Celestia, a handcrafted 148-foot phinisi yacht built using UNESCO-protected methods and designed to offer journeys through the Indonesian archipelago, has unveiled three themed itineraries starting on January 1, 2025. Known for its centuries-old phinisi sailing tradition, Indonesia’s Coral Triangle is famed for its biodiversity and underwater scenery (home to 75 percent of the world’s coral species), culinary scene and historical heritage. Encouraging slow travel, Celestia’s three new journeys are flexible and can be tailored to individual tastes and preferences.
On the five-day “A Culinary Journey of Indonesia with Chef Wayan Kresna Yasa,” guests sail with the Indonesian celebrity chef, discovering the archipelago’s culinary traditions, ingredients and more. From cooking demonstrations to market visits, guests will explore the destination through a gastronomic lens.
The five-day “Divers’ Paradise: Komodo National Park” itinerary includes some of the most unique dive sites. Celestia has a full-service diving program overseen by Cruise Director Jennifer Tan. Highlights include diving sites such as Manta Point, Mawan, Turtle Point, Castle Rock and The Cauldron, also known as The Shotgun, for its unique location and current. Notably, Komodo National Park has been designated a Quiet Place by Quiet Parks International.
The seven-day “Retracing History in the Spice Islands” explores Indonesia’s Spice Islands, also known as the Maluku Islands. On this journey, guests will discover the history and colonial remains of one of the world’s most important spice trade territories. Highlights include Banda Besar, Hatta, Banda Neira and the Pulau Rhun Island, which was traded by the English to the Dutch for the island of Manhattan in 1667.
While travelers can book these new itineraries as offered, Celestia invites guests to tailor their adventures to be as leisurely or active as they desire. While the vessel has pre-planned routes around the islands, the crew can customize excursions and activities based on the season, group size and weather, even accommodating same-day change of plans.
The rates for all voyages are inclusive of transfers to and from hotel/airport; fully crewed boat; expedition leader; activities and excursions on the schedule; chef-prepared food and snacks; three massage therapy sessions per day; national park fees; Starlink Wi-Fi system; dive equipment and dive masters; nitrox for certified divers; soft drinks, tea, coffee, local beers and house wines; and use of all water toys onboard. The rates exclude hotel accommodations before and after the cruise; travel and dive insurance; gratuities for the crew; fuel surcharge when indicated; alcoholic beverages outside of house beers and wines; diver certifications and dive computers; satellite internet connection; and additional massage therapies.
