Viking Launches New “Explorers’ Sale”

Viking has announced its "Explorers’ Sale," providing North American travelers with new booking incentives across the company’s extensive range of river, ocean and expedition voyages. From now through January 31, 2025, Viking is offering special fares starting at $1,999 per person and up to free international airfare on select itineraries, as well as a $25 deposit for all itineraries—plus additional savings for new and returning guests.

Viking explores all seven continents, with river, ocean and expedition voyages calling in more than 500 ports in more than 85 countries. Highlights of the company’s most popular itineraries include:

  • "Iconic Western Mediterranean" (eight days; Barcelona to Rome): France’s famed southern coast and Italy’s Renaissance treasures take center stage on this eight-day Mediterranean journey. Guests will immerse themselves in Catalonian and Tuscan art, architecture and history during overnights in Barcelona and Tuscany. In the South of France, the cruise will visit historic Montpellier and Marseille, plus Monte Carlo, Monaco.
  • "In Search of the Northern Lights" (15 days; London to Bergen): Sailing far north during Norway’s winter, guests will witness snow-covered landscapes dotted with mountains and fjords, and seek out the aurora borealis in the night sky. They will delve into Sami legends and World War II history and immerse themselves in the Norwegian Arctic.
  • "Grand European Tour" (15 days; Budapest to Amsterdam): Travelers will get a chance to admire Rhine Valley vistas from a 900-year-old castle. They will sample the culinary offerings of Austria’s Wachau Valley, learn the Viennese waltz, visit Melk’s Benedictine Abbey and delve into Nuremberg’s World War II history. This 15-day journey traces the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers between the windmill-dotted waterways of Holland and the landscapes of Hungary.
  • "Rhine Getaway" (eight days; Basel to Amsterdam): Guests will discover the turreted fortresses, grand cathedrals, historic cities, medieval towns and scenery of the Middle Rhine—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They will also get to taste the region’s renowned white wines and savor the various culinary traditions of Alsace. The cruise calls in Amsterdam, Cologne and Basel.
  • "Pharaohs & Pyramids" (12 days; Cairo round-trip): This cruise uncovers the ancient secrets of Egypt. Guests will see the pyramids from astride a camel, explore the Temple of Karnak’s 136 soaring pillars, visit Queen Nefertari’s tomb in the Valley of the Queens, skim the waters of the Nile by traditional felucca, enjoy the fragrances of Aswan’s spice market and join expert Egyptologists on a 12-day cruisetour through Egypt on board modern Nile ships, owned and operated by Viking.
  • "Mississippi Delta Explorer" (eight days; New Orleans to Memphis): Cruisers will discover Darrow, the gateway to the grand homes of the Lower Mississippi and explore the towns along the banks of the Mississippi that preserve the American South’s early history. Guests will also learn about Natchez’s French and Acadian heritage, pay their respects at the Vicksburg battlefield and savor Cajun and Creole cuisine, as well as Memphis’s famous barbecue, while celebrating musical legends in the birthplace of rock ’n’ roll.
  • "Antarctic Explorer" (13 days; Buenos Aires to Ushuaia): This adventure takes cruisers to the Antarctic peninsula, where they will witness glaciers, snow-covered landscapes, icebergs and wildlife. In the footsteps of explorers such as Amundsen, Shackleton and Scott, one will be among the few to discover the world’s last truly wild frontier.
