Accor has announced that it has taken over the management of The Grand Tarabya, a historic property nestled in Istanbul’s Tarabya neighborhood along the Bosphorus Strait. The Grand Tarabya marks Accor’s 38th property in Istanbul, strengthening the group’s presence in key cities across Europe and the Middle East.
Originally opened in 1966, The Grand Tarabya debuted as one of Türkiye’s first 5-star hotels. The property underwent restoration and reopened in 2013. It features 248 rooms and suites, 29 residences, seven food and beverage outlets, and a wellness center.
The Grand Tarabya will be managed by Accor under a white label for the duration of an extensive renovation to elevate the hotel’s offerings. Upon completion of the renovation, The Grand Tarabya will be fully rebranded as a Fairmont property, ensuring a seamless transition and integration of Fairmont’s signature brand markers, complemented by touches that celebrate the property’s heritage and local culture.
The Grand Tarabya occupies a coveted position along the Bosphorus, a storied waterway that has become one of the most desirable locations for world-class hotels. The property offers a tranquil waterfront location, from which travelers can explore the city, within a short drive to the capital’s cultural and historic attractions.
Accor operates more than 70 hotels in Türkiye across a diverse array of brands including Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, MGallery, Rixos, Swissôtel, Pullman, Mövenpick, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis Styles and ibis.
