As the all-inclusive sector expands, many hotels are making sure there is plenty to do for the entire family. Case in point: Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa is just about to open; the property will be managed by Hyatt.
Family-friendly through and through, the resort, which will have 519 guestrooms, including 40 villas and 100 swim-up suites, will provide access to two amusement parks, Los Establos Equestrian Center, which houses stables, riding arenas, polo fields and the Punta Espada Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. Kids can attend programs at the Explorer’s Club and Core Zone Teens Club, while adults unwind at one of the resort’s four pools and lazy river, two pickleball courts, tennis court and fitness center. The resort is also home to a theater.
Located 15 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa will be located within the gated community of Cap Cana, situated on Juanillo Beach and home to one of the largest inland harbor marinas in Central and South America.
Curtain Bluff, the all-inclusive resort on Antigua, has changed hands for the first time in its 63-year story. As of November 1, long-time frequent guests Tim and Pat Scott acquired the 72-key beachfront property. They have already confirmed that the same management team and all 230 employees who have made the resort what it is today will continue in their operational roles. As part of the transition, Curtain Bluff will undergo a multi-million-dollar renovation of its accommodations, destination restaurants, and spa and wellness spaces taking place over a three-year period starting Q2 2025. All works will be conducted during seasonal closures to ensure the guest experience remains top priority.

The change in ownership follows the property’s acceptance to the Relais & Chateaux portfolio.
Originally founded by Howard and Chelle Hulford in 1962, Curtain Bluff is on Antigua’s southern coast. It’s home to two beaches, two restaurants, one of the region’s best wine cellars, four championship tennis courts with access to on-site pros, an adults-only wellness area complete with infinity pool and yoga pavilion, and a water’s-edge spa. As an all-inclusive luxury property, the rate includes accommodations, all meals and premium drinks, sports and leisure activities including water skiing, paddle-boating, tubing, kayaking, scuba diving, Hobie Cat sailing, squash, Bocce, shuffleboard, basketball, and pickleball.
In Mexico, Hotel Xcaret on the Riviera Maya says it will transform its family entertainment experience significantly by summer of 2025 by doubling its lodging capacity to 1,800 rooms, adding 20 signature dining options, 16 pools and five waterslides. The additions are expected to come in at the cost of $700 million.

As part of this multigenerational approach, entertainment options will be enhanced with dedicated areas for adults, teens, and children. New attractions include a kids’ hotelito (small hotel), a Lunateca, a teen club, a 24-hour restaurant-movie theater called Xinema, and a speakeasy for adults. Additionally, a family-focused wellness experience will be introduced at the renovated Muluk Spa, alongside an exclusive adults-only area.
The first phase of the expansion will bring 1,600 new direct jobs to the area.
