Passalacqua in Lake Como Unveils Fall and Winter Experiences

Passalacqua, an 18th-century villa-turned-luxury hotel on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como, is welcoming guests with enhanced offerings for autumn and winter 2024.

Passalacqua recently debuted a new spa located within the villa’s tunnels and the ancient greenhouse overlooking the gardens. The spa offers views of the lake, alongside a 59-foot indoor pool. It has also unveiled a collaboration with natural and organic skincare line, Seed to Skin Tuscany, to offer a range of treatments. New treatments and experiences include the 120-minute "Beautiful Balance Ritual," which begins with a herbal infusion and includes a hot shower, steam bath, salt scrub, cold shower, an Aufguss ritual and a candle massage. Guests can also enjoy morning yoga or fitness classes in the indoor pool, as well as a Private Spa experience outside of regular hours, gaining exclusive access to the facilities for private swimming, sauna and steam sessions. Guests can also enjoy an evening "Couples’ Massage," accompanied by champagne and strawberries in a secluded spot overlooking the lake.

This season, guests are invited to enjoy dishes from a new menu curated by newly appointed Michelin-starred chef Viviana Varese. At Passalacqua, the kitchen is always open to guests, who can watch fresh pasta being prepared, taste a cake still warm from the oven and chat with the team to discover the menu for the day ahead. Chef Varese’s offerings can be experienced at the restaurant during lunch and dinner.

Passalacqua will also host a series of themed evenings throughout autumn and winter. Guests can look forward to oyster and champagne nights in the greenhouse or savor specially curated dinners in Il Cantinone wine cellar, where they can experience a special truffle menu or cured meat and cheese from Valtellina, and polenta served in a traditional copper pot. Throughout the season, chefs will craft traditional seasonal sweets for guests to enjoy, besides gingerbread cookies, mulled wine, chestnuts, local liqueurs, gin and new signature cocktails at the bar. To celebrate the holidays, Passalacqua will offer festive menus for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, with highlights such as pumpkin soup, turkey with chestnut stuffing, Dover sole, tortellini, lobster and roast pigeon.

Situated 15 minutes from the town of Como, Passalacqua offers easy access to local culture and events. As part of the property’s complimentary “Every Day Is A Gift” program, guests can enjoy cultural experiences off-site. Led by Maestra Ena, a lifelong resident of Moltrasio, guests can enjoy an intimate visit to the Church of St. Agata or embark on a behind-the-scenes tour to meet the artists of “La Piccola Scala” at the start of the Opera season at Teatro Sociale and enjoy prime seating in the palcos, offering the best views in the house. Guests can also embark on hikes through the mountains, discover the borgo’s hidden waterfalls and explore villages.

Passalacqua is open until January 5, 2025, and will reopen for the spring season on March 21, 2025.
