Two New Luxury Suites Are Coming to Australia's The Ghan Train

Journey Beyond has introduced two new luxury train suites, Australis and Aurora, coming to The Ghan. The new suites will offer a luxurious way to explore the Australian landscape, with the first departures scheduled from April 2026.

Design firm Woods Bagot has been appointed to create interior designs for the luxury train suites. Both are generously proportioned, each with a separate bedroom equipped with a queen size bed. In-suite amenities include an exclusive unpacking service, a pillow menu, a private bar curated according to guests’ preferences, and more.

The Australis Suite is three times the size of a Platinum cabin and comes with a queen bedroom, a full lounge set, a personal bar and en-suite bathroom with double vanity and premium amenities. This suite also has a writing desk as well as a wardrobe and ample room to stretch your legs or host friends and family. The Aurora Suite, on the other hand, is double the size of a Platinum cabin and has a fixed queen-sized bed, lounge set and en-suite bathroom with premium amenities. It also has a wardrobe and plenty of room for guests to move around
